New Clam

What attracted me to this clam at the LFS was how wide open it was. I've had it about a week now and it doesn;t really open for me. Any thoughts?

make sure there is nothing bothering it- ie- pyr snails. not a ton of flow, good light.

Plenty of light (500w of MH) and I check for Pyr snails nightly.

I think my Yellow Tang is bothering it for some reason. He doesnlt do anything destructive but enough to bother the clam.

If the Tang continues this behavior, I'll sell off the clam to a good home.

whats your Mg, Ca, Alk, Ph also if it get direct flow it may not open up all the way...

PH = 8.2
CA = 435
Alk/KH= 8
PO = 0
Mg = Beats me I never tested for it!

There may be too much flow for it. It's not in the direct line of flow but it gets its fair share.

I don' t think is flow my clams are on the top of the reef and they are open wide i have two Tunzes 6100 and about 1000G of more flow they are not directly right at the flow but they get enough to fold the mantel some.
I think is one of the fish that is picking on it.
