New Closed Loop Pump

Ok, after a year my 3000gh Dolphin pump is going out I think. A tiny squeeling noise was first and now the noise is getting pretty bad at times and for longer durations. Dolphin says it is a maint. free pump. It has a one year warranty on it and it is 13 months old. GO FIGUIRE!

Anyway, I am going to call dolphin today. Up to this point I have been nothing but satisfied with the pump itself. But when I invest in a pump here in the future, I am going to look for something with a 2 or 3 year warranty.

I have heard great things about a Sequence pumps. Some of them have up to a 3 year warranty.

Please give me your advice on some pumps...

I also have read good things about the sequence pumps. They are very energy efficient, run cool, and are cheap.

I have a Sequence Dart on my tank. I love it. It is by far the quietest thing on my whole system. Since you have a 180, you may want to look at the Barracuda but that depends on how much flow you want.

I'll add another vote for the Sequence set of pumps. My Dart was a great pump for the price. I found it pretty amazing that a 3600gph pump didn't add any noticeable noise to my old 55 gallon setup.

Blake, I have a ampmaster 3000 that I bought used and it had problems. I talked to the guys at Dolphen and they were MORE than helpful. At the time the pump was 3 years old (I think) and they told me to send it to them and they reconditioned it installed new seals and sent it back to me for free. I paid shipping to tnem was all.
I have not used that pump other than to test it, thanks to the Sequence that I have (thanks Dave;) ) I'm keeping it for a spare.
I had better than expected customer service from both companies. It is worth looking into repairing IMO.

Thanks a lot! I will be calling them first thing in the morning! Like I said, I really do like the pump.
