We bought 2 ocellaris clowns on Sunday (not a mated pair; they came out of the LFS's tank-raised tank that contained maybe 20 clowns). We did the 2 hour drip acclimation thing, and they looked great all day Sunday (see my recent thread).
Yesterday afternoon, however, I noticed that the smaller of the 2 clowns (just a little bit smaller, not much) was hanging out by himself a lot at the back of the tank, and that when he's back there he keeps his dorsal fin down -- not clamped down hard, but not raised up. He's still doing that today, and I see that he's sometimes holding the two little fins underneath his body up close too. So I'm concerned. I also noticed a little rip in one of his "side" fins (don't know what they're called) -- it's a tiny rip, but its there.
On the other hand, he does come out and swim around a fair amount, and when he does, he seems to hold his fins normally and look pretty good. He ate mysis yesterday and this morning, though not as much as his companion (who, by the way, looks 150% terrific). He will swim with her too, for shortish amounts of time. She doesn't seem to be pushing at him anymore, and he doesn't seem to shimmy; when they are together, they swim fine together.
Is there something wrong with the smaller one, or is this part of them getting adjusted to each other?
