new clowns acting odd

So i got two tank clowns the other day and they are being strange. I got them and acclamated them as the lfs told me, then they would just run up and down the front of the tank and nowhere else.. that was ok to me, but now they are in the back of the tank and they are facing toward the bottom of the tank swimming up and down the tank, backwards!
any ideas here??

Can you give us tank info and exactly how you acclimated them?

29 gallon bio cube.. i left them in the bag for 30min and took them out, with the water they came in.
They seem to swim fine and move around great, just that they sit at the top of the tank in the back looking at the ground a lot,
they are right next to the top intake for the filter.. they might like the suction of the filter?

You added the water from the LFS into your tank? Never, ever do that. You want to add a bit of your water into the bag by drip or a baster every few minutes instead. Then add just the fish to the tank...better yet to a QT tank.

On the fish ....are they stuck to the filter intake or just hovering near it?

Many LFSs treat their display tanks with copper to help stave off infection. The problem is, copper is very toxic to inverts, so you really should never add the water from the bag to your tank.

I wouldn't worry about it. My clowns showed similar behaviour when I got them.

no im sorry, i took them out of the bag that they came from. i didnt put the lfs water in my tank.
they are still doing it, they wont go in the rockwork at all.. any ideas to lure them in? I tried some brine shrimp but the pieces that floated toward the rocks they stopped when it got too close and waited till the pieces came back !
Do you think i should get an anemone to attach on so they go toward the rocks and have a home and feel safe? It looks like they like the suction of the filter, but who knows!

my clown fish does that too.. I think its normal.. i had mine for about a month.. they don't do it all the time.. but i do see them doing that..
