Hello!
I lurk here quite a bit, but I don't think I've ever posted.
I'm in Andalusia, AL.
That puts me much closer to the beach than to Montgomery, so I guess I have to throw in with the Panhandle reefers most of the time.

Anyway, to finally get to the point, the Panhandle reefers have officially formed our own real MASNA-member club. We're still very very new, and have a long way to go. In fact, we could probably use your help a bit if you can offer any. Most specifically, I was wondering if you guys have a copy of your charter and bylaws available online? We're looking for some examples to study to help us write our own.

I see that the NARC & CARC have joint meetings occasionally. I'm sure that we'd love to get together with you sometimes as well. We tend to have our meetings in some fun places along the beach. For example, this Sunday we'll be at the Gulfarium.

As for me, I am also a big fan of Alabama's native fishes, and these are my main focus of study & research. You might be amazed to discover some of the things swimming in your local creeks.

You ought to try and make this Saturdays meeting. I am interested in your studies of Alabama's native fishes, as I am trying to work with a couple of local schools on setting up an "Alabama native fishes" aquarium. Possibly themed after the Cahaba River. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I think it would be great to have a reef club in the southern part of the state, I attended the CARC and Narc joint meeting this past saturday and got some good info and met some fellow reefers enjoyed the meeting. If anyone else in south Alabama is interested we should try to have a meeting and get this going

I am in Dothan a little further south. Fairly new to the reef aquarium but a little experience in just fish. Any decent stores around your parts.

I thought that there was a very active reef club called Mobile Bay Reefkeepers somewhere near Mobile a few years ago....

SleepTech have you tried Bill' pets, best in our part of the state that I've found. Otherwise Equipment is best Bought off RC.

The club that Old Salt is referring to is the Florida Panhandle Reefkeepers Society (FPRS). We are the formal organization of members of the Florida Panhandle Reefkeepers here on RC. Our website is www.panhandlereefers.com. The decision to formally organize was made to enable us to provide a more cohesive group and enable us to hopefully do more things to promote the hobby. We welcome you all to check out our website. Currently we have members attending our events form Pensacola to Panama City and north to Andalusia. Hopefully we can fill a niche for fellow reef enthusiasts in lower Alabama as well as the western Florida panhandle.

I have been to bills they are decent most of the time, i have also been to enterprise a few times to pets 4 u. Ill have to make a trip to panama city, where is this place located?

Sun Coast is in a small shopping center at back beach rd. and thomas drive. be careful to watch the signs, you will end up crossing the bridge and will have to turn around somewhere on the other side. The traffic is terrible this time of year in pcbeach and pc. the shopping center has a camper dealer and a dollar store to give you some landmarks. www.suncoastaquariums.com

Ok good deal I will probably be making a trip soon. Have you tried pets 4 u in enterprise ct? they have been really nice everytime i have been in. they are a little high on their rock prices but m ost other things are reasonable.
