It'd be cool to have a spot for our personall tank pictures!

We can definitely make this happen. The new site will include our own forums so what I will most likely do is setup a forum for Member Tanks. This will be a spot where people can post pictures of their tanks and give information on their setup. We will also have a Tank of the Month section on our site. The tank that will be featured each month will be the tank of the person that holds that month's meeting.

Are we trying to go away from RC?

Well, I don't think we will necessarly move away from RC, it just will not be our primary forum for the club any longer.

NO, we are not moving away from RC, but on our own forum, we can be a little more free about where we find things and post about them. Rc brings us to much traffic to move away from them, and they are still a good source for info that we all use

I think we really need to strive to make this website very interactive and also very enticing for new comers. The only way to expand our horizons is too get more people involved in the club! Believe it or not I had no idea this club existed until about a year ago. I think that maybe we can give back a little more both to the club members and our sponsors. More perks is always a good thing but like the old saying goes to get a little you need to give a little. Well if we give alot do we get alot? I dunno.... But I think we need to do alot more to get the clubs name out there more meetings more advertising more involvement with our sponsors and maybe even some cool T shirts too. I have really only attended one meeting but hanging out over at Phil's and Jesse's makes me want to get more involved with the club so lets try and make it happen.

Corey,

Getting our name out there is always a goal, and I think the new site will make everyone happier than the old one that I set up.

With you only hearing about the club last year is still good for us, as we only started advertising in the LFSs last year in Sept. The year before that, we only had 3 or 4 meetings, and we only had a handfull of us from RC.

More perks to the sponors would be a great thing to do, and you are right, we should do more or all we can to help them out (giving them our business).

We had Tshirts and Hoodies made up last year, but no extras were really made, just enough for what was ordered by members and our sponsors to say thanks for helping us out.

If you or anyone else has any ideas how to get our name out there more to get more people involved in the club, I am all ears. Besides putting our club name on the net, and the different forums, and putting flyers in the LFSs, what else can we do, and keep in mind we are on a very tight budget.

I am open to all ideas for the website within reason.

I totally agree on the tight budget side of things. I thought of a cool idea for the website. Videos! Have you guys ever seen Limpitsreef on youtube? This guy is kind of a dork but makes some pretty useful videos for reefers. What if we had a youtube link or even had an imbedded code stream youtube videos straight from the FWMAS site! That only showed videos that FWMAS has done. I recently filmed some videos for my company this way and it is really cool and a good way to display usefull information with out having to read for hours through threads This will also get new comers other reefers to check out our site!

That is a cool idea... not sure how hard it is to put that on the site, as that is David's thing, but cool for sure. We could do something like that for the tank of the month section maybe, or on some DIY projects that people have done in the club

If you get me the vidoe(s) I will get them up on the site. I like the idea of DIY because I think this could be a good resource for everyone online, not just club members.

I can try and do some videos my work has a really nice HD digital camera that cost about 3 grand that im sure they would let me borrow. I will have to learn the editing software. Any video ideas ?
I know limpitsreef has some cool videos on making sumps, fish food, maxi jet mods, etc.

Searching for your name on Google again? No real need to get offended, it was really meant as a compliment. Anyway, if someone called me a "whale's penis" I wouldn't disagree... Have you ever seen the size of those things?!?!

From time to time I do searches to see where the videos all are and found this comment.
I did not say I was offended just wondering whats dorky about me, thats all.
I've been called a lot of things but never a dork.
Its no big deal and not trying to start anything with you guys.

Are there any plans for another set of Tshirts/hoodies? I'd really like to purch a few.. I have a friend "in the business" of logo advertising (shirts, etc).. if that is what is needed... Pls lemme know.

Lee my sister is currently reworking our logo into a vector file so that we can get it to the printers etc and make it easier for them to make up print items etc. I think there are plans to possibly supply a shirt with membership next season and we should have some other items available I know i want a hoodie....
