New Reef Club Forming in Horry

A new saltwater interest group is currently forming in the Myrtle Beach area and is inviting participants from all over Horry County, South Carolina. This club is intended to be complimentary to, not in competition with, your group's interests and activities. Several individuals (some new to the hobby, some with decades of experience) are organizing a first meeting on Saturday February 9 at 7:00pm. Location TBA here .

We would appreciate your input and suggestions as to topics and ways in which this club could make your hobby more personally enjoyable. Give some feedback at the link listed above.

Strack We'll see what we can contribute to the MB reef scene. Hopefully you can attend and bring your experience, and enhance the "club" for beginners and advanced alike.

H2OLUVSME There's no doubt that as time goes on, free time is always at a premium. If you can attend, we'll do our best to make it worth folks' time. Maybe more importantly, we feel that providing a consistent time and consistently rich content will enable folks to plan to attend in the future if they feel it's a valuable use of their time. Hope we succeed, because reef keepers with your time in the hobby are vital to an upstart "Community" like this.

Sound a little too "campaign-y"? Well, tis the season...

We are pleased to announce the speaker for the first meeting!

Ed Parsons, Aquarist and Life Support Specialist with Ripley’s Aquarium, will speak generally on diseases/parasites affecting captive marine species.

After the lecture and question/answer session, there will be a behind-the-scenes tour of the support facilities of the large saltwater display at Bass Pro Shops. Meet other aquarists in the Horry/Georgetown area.

We hope you’ll join us Saturday, Feb 9 between 7pm-9pm by the big tank at Bass Pro Shops.
