New Colt and Finger corals

I just put my first corals in my 90 g reef tank. They are a small colt and finger coral. The tank is 24" high and I have the lights about 8" over the water. My lighting consists of two 54 watt T5 and two 250 watt HQI. The T5's are on 12 hours and metal hilides are on 4 hours a day. I got the corals today and put them down at the very bottom. Is this OK? Also, do they like good water flow? I have two Tunze Turbelle Stream 6000's on with a controller.

Thanks,
Ken

Should be fine. My well-established Colt coral is on the bottom of my 24" deep 92 gallon tank illuminated by one 250W 10K MH, two 36" VHO lamps and two 24" T5 lamps.

As far as flow, mine like some flow, but not necessarily a lot of flow.

One suggestion - make sure your colt coral is isolated from your main live rock, especially if it will be at the bottom of your tank. Once it gets established, it will start to slowly spread, encrusting on the rock.

That sounds like alot of flow for a colt...I'd put it in a spot that doesn't have so much...sounds like a good set up for sps

In my old 180g, my colts were hit directly by 2 6000's as well. They would puff up really big and feathery. They seemed to love the flow. The frags that were lower and protected from the flow were much thinner.

I also had the big guys about a 8 inches under a 250watt double-ended MH.
