New Coral Beauty has ich... Maybe?

So I purchased a Coral Beauty from my LFS the other day. She looked great in the store. The LFS employee said her water was 1.019 SG, but the bag water was 1.015 SG on my refractometer.

So I got her home, acclimated her over about 12 hours to my quarantine tank which is at 1.025 SG and she still looked great.

The next day she has about 8-10 white spots on her head and face. Smaller than a period. I mean they were really small.

So I thought to myself, "Well. Shoot. Good thing I quarantined her."

So I began a hyposalinity treatment and over the course of the next two days I bring the SG down to 1.009.

The spots disappeared the day after I started hypo (SG was probably around 1.015) and they haven't been back. It's been 7 days in hyposalinity. No more white spots.

Does this sound like ich? Do the spots just appear and then disappear all of the sudden like that in the course of 48 hours?

I haven't been treating with any medication. Should I be? I'd rather not wait 2 more weeks just to have the spots come back when I bring the SG back up...

Anybody have any ideas?

Ich doesn't stay on the fish that long ... generally no longer than 7 days and often 2/3 days.

Many people regularly QT there fish with hypo whether they show signs of it or not.

Hypo should be sufficient to treat ich .. no other meds should be required unless you see any bacterial side effects from the ich outbreaks (open sores from ich sometimes create problems).
