Came in yesterday from LA. Healthy, eating, but kinda drab color still. What are the chances it'll color up??

It was the vanuatu variety if that makes any difference.

I just recently got my coral beauty. It lost its coloring during transport and acclimation. but after about a day its color started to come back. and within two days id say it was back to its full color. So if its happy in the tank it may color up soon.

Another thing to consider is maybe your coral beauty has more of the amber coloring than the blue/purple. the fish store I picked mine up from had two coral beauties. one was a very purple/blue but the other one they had was colored with much more amber color. I picked up the more purple/blue one.

Here is the best picture of my coral beauty that I had with me. This was a day after addition to my tank.

Also is it breathing heavily or scratching/flashing? May have a case of flukes. Are you quarantining the fish or you just struck it in the DT?

Personally I would contact LA about this and see what they suggest you do. I wouldn't be happy with that fish either. Let us know what they do

Are you adding supplements to the food? Selcon, vitamins? mine wasn't very drab but he is even more colorful after a few weeks of eating foods soaked in selcon and vitamins.
