Can I ask where you got that coral. I've got one that looks like it, but no idea what it is. I'm going with Acropora for starters.

Acropora granulosa

100% sure :D She's a beauty Vince!

Some people consider it a deep water coral so I wouldn't put it right up top. In the ocean they are found on reef slopes protected from wave action so make sure not to put it in too high of flow either. They can be somewhat delicate corals but there are many being kept in captivity with no problem. In fact yours looks a lot like the Frag Farmers Skittles Granulosa. I bet it cost a pretty penny!! It's one of the nicest I have seen.

I saw the corals that Nate and Vince received. They look awesome and the colonies are quite large. I am kicking myself for not going in on the order with them (though I did get a cool wrasse and some peppermint shrimp for the zoo). The divers den sale is still going on and they have many awesome colonies left. If any local reefers want to go in on an order, let me know. While I don't really have room, I'll just have to clear some space in one of my displays.

I would have purchased a couple of things also... I still need a tang... although maybe I should save my cash for the swap

Make sure to check between Friday night and Saturday morning that seems to be when they do the big updates with all of the nice stuff on the divers den. The Acropora loripes I got is amazing!

I've bought some stuff from divers but there are times it really seems overpriced. I guess you have to be savvy.

Not really. When you consider a coral like Vince's granulosa costs under $100 and a frag of ORA Phil's granulosa cost's $60, than $90 or $100 isn't really that much money. It is about 15 times bigger and is just as nice IMO. Assuming it lives, grows, and colors up the way I would expect it to Vince should be able to frag it in 6 months or less having made all of his money back. The risk that comes in to play is it may not color up nice, it may not live long enough to be fragged, and/or it may grow painfully slow. It is a risk no doubt but knowing Vince he is a guy who likes to gamble a little and at least for the moment this granulosa looks like a safe bet. Just my 2 cents :)
