I bought two acros a couple days ago, and just mounted them halfway down in my 75g tank. For the first evening, I cut off the main T5 HO lights (Tek 6-bulb); for the second day, I let the lights come on, but had them up very high. I permanently mounted the corals last night, and lowered the lights to 7.5" above the surface of the water.
Considering the corals were under 400w metal halides in the store, do I really need to worry that much about light acclimation?
