New critter to id

Found this guy on my sump sock when changing it out. Is this a shrimp of some sort?

Amphipod, should have plenty more, harmless benefical scavengers.


I've never heard of a system that doesn't have some, Like copepods.

OK that's what I thought after looking online , I just have never seen such a big one before in person.

i have seen them in my sump tank up to 1/4"+ and are a nice free food source

My LFS has some that are 1/3" long in a refugium. They can get reasonably large, which is cool to see.
