new current recirculating skimmers questions. Help needed

Has anyone bought one of the new current fission recirculating skimmers? How is it working for you and how did you get it set up and working right? I bought the 220 gallon model and put it on my 135 just to try it out and everything is working properly but I am not getting any foam production at all. I have adjusted every way I know how. Could I be doing something wrong. I have had salwater tanks for about 6 years now and I have never owned a skimmer so this is a new adventure for me.

How long has the skimmer been set up? There is a 'break in' period for skimmers. Some take longer than others.

It may just take a few more days. There is no set in stone time that a skimmer will take to break in.

Got any pics of it setup?

Looks like it's running alright to me. Just have to give it time to do it's thing. Keep the water level low so when it does take off, it will reduce the risk of it overflowing.

Once you see a nice foam building, you should be able to adjust it.

Try raising the level in it a bit. I have the 125 and was having the same issue. I decided to add a air pup to the venturi air tube that is there (take off the silencer and put a small air pump. Problem solved, I know get a dark skimmate.

Did you try raising the water level up a bit? You said it was at the bottom of the cone maybe try raising it to the bottom of the neck and see if that helps.

I raised it to the bottom of the neck and when I got up this morning I was suprised to see some foam being produced. Patience is definitely the key here. The foam wasn't to the top of the cone and running over yet but it was about an inch from the top and it is almost black. I hope when I get home today I have some skimate in the collection cup.

So how did it look when you got home? Was there any skimate at all in the cup?
Also keep in mind that the higher you raise the water level in your skimmer the wetter your skimate is gonna be. The lower the water level=a more dry skimate. You probably already knew that but you said you're new to skimmers so I thought I'd throw it out there just in case.

Well there is no skimate in the cup yet but the foam is at the top and it looks nasty as hell. It looks like there will be skimate running into the cup at any time now. I ended up raising the water level about an inch up into the collection cup cone.

The skimmer is still making foam but it won't spill over into the cup. It gets right to the top and just sits there. I raised the water level a little more and the foam stopped and it was just the microbubbles. I can lower the level back down and it will start producing foam again but it won't run over into the cup. What in the world could I be doind wrong??
