New Duncans

Just picked these guys up for $5 ea and am very happy. They are about 1 1/2" across. Do they spread as a mat like suns or are they branchers ? I'm trying to figure out permanent placement for the best reproduction

I put my duncans anywhere in my tank n they seem to do fine everywhere. But i guess prime location would be med light med flow. They love target feeding

I have only been feeding mine mysis shrimp and they seem to like it a lot. They have grown exceptionally well over the past 2 month that I have had them. Mine are also placed in med flow.

They branch but the base will encrust some. I started with a couple of heads like you and now have a large colony. Over the years the base has gone from quarter sized to larger than a baseball in diameter.

I've got 2 little bumps on the side of one, hopefully these are new heads starting out. I'll keep the info coming. Thanks

With good water quality they should grow a new head about once a month.

I'm seeing about 1 new head per "branch" per month with daily feedings of squid and reef chili.

Edit: Also, IME, whenever I've spotted a small bump near the base of the head its sprouted into a new head.
