New Eheim Pro3 Air Pockets

Well I put in a 2075 last night and awoke to found the tank full of microbubbles this morning.

After tilting the filter a bunch of times, I think I got all the air out of the filter.

Now about 2 hours later, there seems to be a little bit of air coming out still after I tilt the filter.

Do you think it was left over from the initial air in the system, or do you think more air could have made it in?

Is it normal for air to build up after a few hours?

Try placing the return tube near the ground inside of a small contanier so you can siphone the water into the contanier then just dump that back into the tank that way you can getr rid of the air in the canister.

Thanks, I've checked it a few times over the last few hours, and no more bubbles when I tilt the canister... I hope it purged everything.

Now for some reason I'm getting a ton of microbubbles from my skimmer after putting in the Eheim.

I wonder if it has something to do with all the air that was in the filter?

Never had issues with the skimmer and bubbles before, so the air in the filter.

No more air in the Eheim anymore that I can see, or force out by tilting.

Also the microbubbles aren't coming out of the skimmer anymore.

I think I had a mini-cycle start when I put the new filter in, and didn't leave the old filter running. After I saw signs of stress in the fish and started to get a bad smell, I quickly popped the old filter back on, still moist.

Everything is back to normal now, I guess the change in the water chem. messed with the skimmer.

I'll probably leave the old filter on for a month or two, until the Eheim gets up and running.
