Very beautiful, and looks big! What color are the tips? What kind of flow does it get? And what did you feed it? :)

i feed mine minced foods with vitamins.for a new one i would feed a little bit of food everyday minced with selcon or zoa in it icreasing the amount but going every other day after 2 months to allmost once a week.i would also keep them shaded for a month slowly acclimating it to youre lights.he looks good i am in love with these corals.i have a bud from a huge mother colony and its doing great and growing fast.it is sad thet these elegance might be extinct in 10 years.i would love to see a seeding program and reintroduce them to reefs and lagoons using aquaculture elgance it can be done and i personally would give mine to any program like that.gl with him dont feed large iteams i have had bad luck doing that he is a showpiece you want for ever.

wow, very nice piece. Like sqwat said, sure would be nice to find a way to help the natural populations survive, hope this one thrives and shows some major growth for you.

I almost feel guilty, as back in the late 80's and early 90's I worked at a popular LFS that was trying to push the then VERY INFANT process of reef keeping, and in 5 years or so, must have sold 40 or 50 elegance corals over 12" long, and Im pretty sure none of them ever made it more than a couple of years, if that. I remember one piece sold to a San Diego Charger linebacker where money was no object, that was hand selected in LA that was over 18" long going into his 500gallon tank. Sqwat, I would love you see your "bud" and a picture of the mother colony, this isnt one of those corals that grow fast, and as you know, the way the skeleton grows, I didnt think traditional fragging could be done?. Even with all those years back then, I have only returned back to the hobby this year, and love to learn . Point me to your thread please,

returning thread to Darth Simon (sorry)

heres a pick of him when i first got him.he was on a monster one that came threw the lfs by me and he dropped wile he was on display waiting to be sold wich was only one day.this guy was huge and pretty.the bud fell under the rack for 2 weeks then the sailsmen found it and priced at 50$.i wasnt looking for one at the time.after about a month i asked if he would sell it 20$ he said no 30$ didnt have the extra ten so i didnt buy it.another week past and i whent o go see if they still had it and was going to buy it but wasnt there so i left.i came back about three weeks later and they were moving stuff around and i saw the guy under the frag wrack .so then i offered him 20$and took him home.pics are when i just got him home he was about the size of a dime.i will take new pics today to show yopu how he looks he is now about the size of a dollar bill but thats the polyp his base has grpwn 4 centametrs.
