New Era Marine Grazer

So I just started and my fish devoured it in about 45 minutes. I did crack in half on one side trying to get it over the plug.

I prefer this over nori. It doesn't get torn away and left to float till the pump catch it which gets disintegrate to a mess. My fish likes it too.

I'm using this too. Seems like a more natural way of eating for my tangs.

The only issue I have is that the food stops my protein simmer from foaming for the entire duration the grazer is in the water, which can be all day basically. Is that the same for others?

You can move the algae clamp any where in take while suction cups is sick in one spot. I super glue mine into my glass magnet cleaner

They provide the suction cup that you insert the algae to. I use the Two Little Fishies Veggie-Mag Feeding Clip Magnet to hold the suction cup as in the video.

I never notice any foaming issue with using this. It could be that your hand/arm enter water which usually causes the skimmer to lose foam.

Thanks. The loss of foaming can last for several hours - interesting it doesn't happen for you. I will look into other causes then.

Cheers!

I take the fixing thing out each time to put on a new "donut". Do you leave the fixture in the tank full time and apply the donut with it still in the water? Perhaps its that?

My water has plenty of DOC for the skimmer to pull out - when not using the marine grazer I get a regular dark skimmate. Its a reasonably new skimmer though, less than one month. Could be its still breaking in.

I leave it in all day, yes. If there is any left at light out, take that out. Figure any stuff that comes off can help feed corals and/or CUC.
