Hi Brian. I'm one of the newbies (although I can't believe it's almost a year):fish2: - nice to meet you.

Dreamin mel : great to see you again as well! You and scott are in my thoughts and thanks for thinking of me! :)

Backdraft !!! cool to see your still around !

I suppose I should update everyone on my hiatus (sp). In jan of 09 my father was diagnosed with ALS aka Lou Gherigs. Average life with the diagnosis is 3 to 5 years and he was exceptionally fast in progression. We had our house remodeled to accomodate both parents moving in with us. In the mean time we had 2 houses to sell and cleanout as well as maintain until they sold. tons of work!! In November my father did pass away from the effects of ALS.
The hardest part for me was the diagnosis and knowing what was going to happen and what needs he would have and how we should / could deal with things like respirators , feeding tubes, etc. The last 2 months were very hard emotionally on everyone in our family, Laura (my wife ) and I were even talking about marriage counseling.
My Mother still lives with us at our home and always will :). We miss him but there are no feeding tubes in the afterlife :)
I wish there was a happy medium between fatal car accidents and cancer. So that we all could say our good bye's and not have to witness any suffering. But such is life. I have grown a new appreciation for life and even things like making my own cup of coffee or holding my kids :) from my experience.

Well now we are all current :)

reefdogg did you see the link gary posted to me and suzy? Gigantea in a puddle.. all these years people have been keeping them in to much water ... probably drowning them LOL

Oh my is that brian wow welcome back brian got a tank yet or planned? I have tons of stuff pm me if you need anything

how big's your tank? what's it's parameters? fo or reef?

dude, welcome back, but sorry to hear of the last years struggles.

better place, but unfortunately not here.

jeff ,ray, and walter !!!!
Man what a crew there!!! Great to see you guys are still around! I dont have a tank and I have no plans to set one up at this time. Thanks so much though!!!

Walt: Since there is a possibily that it is genetic my wife wants me tested for als but honestly I do not want to know. Live today to its fullest and pray!!! I would not want to subjet my family to ALS again :( and to make matters worse I already have RLS (restless leg syndrome) which is closely related to parkinsons, so she is already scared ... well me too ... but such is life :)
