Hey Guys,

Just added the following fish to our tank after being QTed for 6 to 8 weeks.
- Male Crosshatch Trigger (3.5")
- Female Crosshatch Trigger (3.5")
- Male Lineatus Wrasse (3.5")
- Male Flame Wrasse (3.5")
- Female Flame Wrasse (2")
- (5) Lyretail Anthias (1.5")

The tank already had the following:
- Black Tang (5")
- Yellow Tang (3.5")
- Chevron Tang (2.5")
- Yellow Bellied Blue Tang (4")
- (3) Pajama Cardinals (1.5")
- Black Ice Clownfish (2.5")

The tank is 470 gallons - 120x29x31"

The Yellow Bellied Blue Tang is going at the Crosshatches with his tail and also the Wrasses.

Do you think this is just hazing? Or all out aggression?

Thanks :strange:

It does not look that bad, I think you should be ok. I like to introduce new fish in the dark, it sometimes helps. you can also try adding some food as it also may help distract the hippo.

I do as well... just thought with so many fish (10) going in it would be OK.

Esp. thought the Crosshatches would be a little more dominant.

I also don't think it looks that bad. But if it is getting you nervous or it gets worse, what I do is take a large piece of egg crate and wedge it some where in the tank for a few hours. All there attention will be torward the egg crate giving the new guy time to settle in.

Yeah I think it's a little better now as well.

The YB Blue has now focused on the Lineatus for a bit.

The Crosshatches put a nice scratch in the acrylic on that corner though with all the up and down swimming they were doing haha

Good thing I ordered a scratch removal kit for the tank... the last cleaner pad I used put some light scratching on the front panel...

Here's a video doesn't seem as bad now:

Crosshatches can be surprisingly timid at first. If aggression is present after a couple of days or gets worse you can take out the yellow belly and put him in an acclimation box (I use my fish trap as an acclimation box).
I have had some aggressive fish where I put them in fish trap and put that in my sump for two days and then put back in tank. Aggressor was effectively reset from the time out and it was peaceful going forward.

Thanks I'll keep an eye out on him.

Really wanted the Crosshatches to cut down on some of the tang bickering... everyone seems to be coming out more and more now which is great.

I'll give them all a feast tonight and let them go to bed on a full stomach. Maybe they'll wake up in a better mood.

Seems like the Yellow Bellied Blue is leaving everyone alone now...

Crosshatches are still being a bit timid, but are venturing further into the tank :)
