New Fish Help!

Just got a tomato clown from LFS. It looked great in the tank and the owner said it had been in that tank for a month with no problems. So i decided to quarantine a fish for the first time in my life. I learned the hard way, but its day 2 in my quarantine tank and he's always either in between the powerhead and the side or wedged under the heater. Is this bad?? I have a small heater, a 20 aquaclear hob filter and a small maxijet with a koralia water deflector on it. I tried feeding him rods with selcon and vitachem, but i didn't see him eat much. he would keep eating the same piece and spitting it back out... please help thanks

If you dont have a piece of LR for him to hide behind he will hide behind whatever is in there, I would put a piece of LR in there so you can really see how he acts.

good idea i was thinking about that. but its normal for him to hide soo much and not really be eating yet/?

yea i would say it is pretty normal just keep an eye on him and if he doesn't eat within the next day or so you may have a problem. i myself have had 4 clowns that i just bought come down with brooklynella and have already lost 2 of them. if it turns out to be brooklynella get formaline and dip him. keep an eye out for white slimy stuff around the gills, loss of appetite and hanging around the top trying to get air.

Its a new home for him. His first thought is.....Find a safe place to hide for protection & a place to sleep.

I wouldn't worry for another couple of days (2). He is in another new/strange place. Let him get his bearings and feel safe. He should do fine, they are a pretty hardy species.

Clownfish need a "home", and they'll make due with anything they can find. Drop in some PVC fittings or some kind of tank ornament (like a castle or something). Give him some shelter to hide in, it definitely helps with the skiddishness when they have a place to hang out.
