hello,

my friend brought me back a very small (1.25") juvenile queen angelfish from his trip to caribbean a week ago. The fish is doing fine but wont eat any prepared foods i put in the tank, just picks at live rock all day. Ive tried, frozen mysis, angel food prep, and variety of other frozen foods. Flakes, and spirulina flakes, and dried seaweed banded to rocks. I even stuffed empty snail shells with squid (more familiar presentation)?

ANY NEW IDEAS OR TECHNIQUES??????

all input welcome. thanks.

have you tried live brine shrimp? I know they don't have much nutrition but it is something alive and they ddont move fast so that could give him something to nip at and get him started. frozen mysis shrimp could be another option maybe?

Find some LR with algae and see if you can find someone who has a fuge with some spare chaeto with lots of pods. Sometimes you can soak the small pellets in water before you feed so they are soft. Good luck!

i have great sucess with the live brine shrimp .get some and try it ,my wrasses are very delicate and that always gets them eating in the begining then i switch them over to other foods .how did he ship the fish from the caribbean ?i have wanted to do so but cant bring on plane .
