New Fish Room from Winterpeg with 250G

Coming along nicely. You may have already said and I missed it but what rock did you end up going with?

A slow start

Today's update

Just need to hang UV in the back. Have to get adaptor from 2 to 1 inch

Then get the check valve This is going below the T

Then might redo how The emergancy pipe goes into the sump to clean it up and make room for the 1 inch and have no pipe over the main sump area.

I also need to figure how long to make the over flow pipe to go into the sump. I'm having marine pure where it returns but now sure how long to make the pipe as don't want to here the water slash in there.

I'm building a 630 gal tank during the construction of my new house. I have a 5x7 area for work space. I wish I could have allowed more space to store stuff and get around the tank. Hope this helps you.

Plumbing update
1. Just need to place emergancy return need trip to store

2. Might in future do a manifold.
Where it's circled I red
I have UV to pvc to BV to pvc then 90 to hook up flex hose for pump.

Where and how should I do I manifold for potential.

I'm thinking a T between the UV and the BV then cap it off for future use.

Yup it is a check valve. Need to keep it clean or it will leak through the gasket and siphon.

Peg, I'd almost "t" up and put the manifold more up and under the tank if that makes sense. Use the 2x6 cross bracing as a mounting point. That way it is stable, and turning valves won't add stress to the plumbing and it will be a little less visible, making it seem less cluttered. Or you run a single pipe out and put the manifold in a totally separate area of the fish room. Just remember and changes you make to return pump speed, water flowing through the manifold, etc. will affect everything else on that plumbing run to some degree. Check out my build and see what I did.

Thanks understand what you mean. Not a bad idea.

And I know I might run into flow issues. I might not even use the manifold but just placing the line for potential use later.

Can figure how to see your post.

What are the numbers on the side of the tank for?

My rock just arrived this morning....mind if I ask what substrate / sand you went with or if you have a picture of the grain size? Thanks.

Edit: Ignore the sand/picture request :D I looked up and back a bit and see it. Thanks.

That's how much water at certain times

And our predictions my 6 year old loves this game

And we teach here how that works

Cool - I can dig it. Reef tanks are very educational when you think about it. Everything from chemistry to environmental. Hats off to you and your family. Good job.

BTW - what rock did you go with? Also looks like you are going to cycle it right in the tank or did you do that outside?
