Took some of your ideas on the gap.

I placed or cut some of the hot water foam covers. And put it in the gap.

Now I can silicone it with a backing.

Now waiting for some hi gap silicon from a fish buddy.

So I got it filled. Now water has no way out of tank.

Found some silicon that for bug gaps worked great.

Ok I got my 5th coat of paint on back of tank.

Only some small issues to fix where air bubbles are showing on front.

Lots good. Just don't light up I room..

Completed my post for the doors.

Primed paint next

Just was scary to install 2.5 inch screws on the bottom as glass was right there. But mange not to crack it.

Now I can cut out the drywall. But first I need to figure exactly where trim is going as do t want to make doors to big.

Looks terrific! Just curious why you're not using a larger sump that takes the whole area provided? Maybe there is something else planned for that space...

Looks great! You're doing a great job putting this beauty together. Love the look from the front. Others will comment about not having front access and the negative. Our 290 we setup the same way, no front access and I wouldn't change it for anything! I absolutely love how it turned out. Is it a pain sometimes? Sure, but nothing I regret, that's for sure!

Thanks

My LFS designed it this way.

Why no access?

For us? Same as OP, built into the wall and built it so we can only access the back. Looks like OP has built his in as well, from the pics of the finished drywall.

Ok thanks.

I might try the back access only and later get the front installed. If required
