The road that goes from Kadena gate 2 to route 58, on the opposite side of Coco's.

I'll give them a call tomorrow and ask about the marine fish thing.

Everything changes here fast. When I started living here in 95, the place looked like a normal town. Now it's like a huge city.

Still going strong, now called 'gate2 street' and a few other names.

I should make you feel old, I was born in 82

lol My son was born there in "82 at the Naval Hospital. WHen I was there, BC street was the next major streer on the left as you came out of Gate 2

They were suspossed to give that property that the hospital is on back to the Okinawan govt a few years ago. They are in the process of building a new faculity right now. It will go up in Futenma housing on camp foster. There is a school where the hospital is, that also is being moved. I have been told it is being moved as well.

many many many changes. One other thing that completly amazes me, I guess all the way up until around '98 the ocean used to come right up to the highway right there where the hospital is...well, that now is a tourist area.

I took these pics last weekend of the area that used to be water, and an area that you might have swam in, just for fun. -
and cause I spent too much $$ on a camera and thought I should use it.

Great Pics, Yep, it sure has changed. I lived at 1563a Sada Housing at Camp Butler, if it is still there. I would love to make a trip back over some day. I worked at the USAFSO on Torii Station. It was an Intelligence Field Station for the Army. THere were all services in the building tho and Then the Navy had their on field station also called Honza.

The boss lady just saw the pics too and now she is ready for a return trip to check out hte changes. Maybe one day once the house is paid for. Without the military flights, it will be big $$$$$$. Hopefully we can make it back before we die. lol
Hope that everyone had a GREAT THANKSGIVING.

But I bet BC Street is still going strong

Speaking of which again, one of my junior Marines got his butt kicked this weekend out there. He and his friend got jumped by 5 other people, I guess it was over a spilt beer or something stupid like that.

Some things never change I guess. Always seems to be a fight in that area. Last time I was there my friend got cracked in the head with a beer bottle. Suprised me it didn't knock him out. It was pretty funny watching the guy who hit him run around scared because my friend was coming after him. It was even funnier when the guy jumped into his car and scraped the entire side on a phone pole trying to speed away. He messed it up pretty bad We had a great laugh that night and a few more beers. Too bad he had to see the Dr. to get stitched up the next day.

I went down by this shop today, holy smokes. I would only hope a shop on that scale would sell anything water related. That place is HUGE compared to other fish shops on the island....except for ACO that is...
