New Fish today! Have an issue.

Received some new fish today. 1 of them is an Auriga Butterflyfish (hopefully to eat manjanos in my tank).

When I opened the box and took his bag out he was laying on his side. Didn't think much about it, let him float in my QT for a while, then pulled him out to acclimate him. Since I placed him into my acclimation conatainer he has stayed on his side.

Anything I can do? Is that normal? Think he'll make it?

thanks

is it breathing ?

check ammonia in the bag, if too high go through acclimation FAST and discard water.

fish makes ammonia in bag, since closed bag, the PH drops and ammonia turns into ammonium, whichis not toxic, when you open the bag and let air in PH bounces up, producing ammonia which is toxic.

just one of the possibilities.

I already have him acclimating so I can't test the bag water. I'll speed up the process a little and get him in the QT.

He is breathing, and every once in a while he jets around the bucket.
