New fish

I tried a pair of potters angels straight from the diver. I was the only time they had every been shipped so there wasnt the supply chain issues. Still never would eat right. They were awesome looking, perfect color and fat. I will try them again sometime, but it is one of the most difficult fish out there.

How are all of the leopards doing? I started prazipro on Thursday. Both of mine come out in the morning and enjoy PE mysis. I hope they get used to the lighting schedule soon.

Mine has been out since the first since the first day but has been mostly haning out in a corner. I think it's due to my lavender tang being a little dominant with him. No real aggression, just some flashing and displaying. I picked up the prazipro but haven't treated yet. He is hammering mysis down and even picking at some spectrum pellets and flake.

i had one in my 150 along with a black leopard. they are awesome fish i love to watch them swim. trust me when i say read that article nook put up. henry is pretty local to me. he knows a lot about fish in general. he helped me a lot when i was starting my first tank about 5 years ago. the leopard wrasses are one of my favorite fish. i hope yours does well.

Finally, my two are staying out and eating very well. They have two more days of prazipro treatment in the first round and so far both seem completely healthy. My blue tang likes to swim with them. They don't like it much though :)

Very cool. Mine is still staying in the corner but seems to venture out a little further each day. I think it helps that she has new company to distract the tang.

Picked him up on Sat. and he's eating Rod's and mysis like a champ. He didn't come out too much yesterday due to the tang but they must have had it out this morning because they both have some small battle scars and are leaving each other alone for the most part.

Mine is dead I looked for it and found part of its body. The sixline must have won. That's a very cool fish and one day I will try another one. If I can ever get that sixline out.

Sorry to hear that. Sixlines are always poor tankmates for most other wrasses. I hope you can find another one once you get rid of that sixline.

Well, crap! :mad2: I came home from work today and the first thing I noticed is that the potter's wrasse is not out and about. Last night it dove into the sand about 1-2 hours earlier than normal so I thought maybe it did the same tonight. I did a quick check to see if I could find it but didn't see anything. About a half hour later I was looking around again and there it was laying on top of the sand where it normally sleeps, dead. I'm really at a loss as to what the issue was, the fish has been eating well since the day I got it and the past few days it seemed like it was getting more comfortable in the tank and wasn't as easily spooked by the other fish as it had been for the first week. The only thing I can think of is that I dosed prazipro proactively for intestinal worms. I've heard that if a fish is heavily infested that the sudden death of the worms can lead to complications killing the fish but I'm not sure if that's hearsay or not. It seems like the only reasonable explanation though.

Thanks guys. It's just very frustrating to lose such a beautiful fish (or any fish for that matter) and not even be able to point a finger in the direction of the cause.
