New Flame Wrasse Trio! :)

Hey all, I picked up a flame wrasse trio recently and thought I'd share. The male is 4" - 5" and the two females are an inch or so smaller. They might be my favorite addition since jumping into this hobby a few years ago.

I have had a 185g for a couple of years and just set up a 210g as well. I'm a few month in on the 210g and all is well. The Flame Wrasses have a purple firefish, a pair of black occ clowns (female stuck in overflow :angryfire:), a midas blenny, and a purple tang as tank mates. There might/should be a yasha goby and pistol shrimp in there as well, but I haven't seen them since putting them in.

A couple of pics...

When the male becomes a Supermale you'll love the coloring even more. I love my Flame Wrasse pair and can't wait till QT process is over to introduce them. I have a local seller that is selling a pair of Rhomboid that i am interested in picking up as well.

Help me understand, please - what's the difference in coloration and/or behavior between a supermale and a male?

Awesome looking. How are they all getting along? My wife and I have been wanting a pair for a while now.

They all get along great. The male is the boss, for sure, but they all swim together for the most part - the male often hovering a little higher in the water column than the females.

I just lost my male while it was being treated in the QT with cupramine. He didn't handle the copper too well. The female and the 3 tangs are taking it like a champ. Gosh i wish the male could of been a bit stronger. Would love to see him in my display. Now i need to find a few more females so one can eventually turn male.

That's terrible. Best of luck finding more females!
