New Flametip

I picked this up today and was told it was a flame tip. Can anyone verify? Whether it is or not, it is still a very nice looking BTA. Photos were done using my iphone, but the color is really deep red

Not bad 60. I liked it because the tentacle stayed short almost like a large ricordia

That's a fair price for what you got. I like rose bta's and their variants. I had one that could have been called a few names but sold it today. I'm gonna miss it.

There is no real standard naming system for the various colors/patterns of BTA. "Flame" usually means that there are yellow tips on red or orange tentacles. Not seeing yellow tips on your's, but $60 is a pretty good price (about 3/4 of what I would expect) for a BTA the quality of yours.

I've been researching for short tentacles anemone, but no luck yet. And if it's RBTA, then it will grow long. At least from what I research.

They don't all get long tentacles, unfortunately, no one seems to be able to find what factors control tentacle length in BTAs.

Hmmmmm.....I would love to have RBTA that stays shorts. That would be awesome, but so far, I've seen more to the one who gets really long.

My experience with BTAs is the tips get shorter with lack of food and the BTA can consume its self. Eventually becoming bleached nubs. If you feed them the tips start growing back. The tips in your picture do not look unhealthy in my opinion.

Mine seem more flow related, high flow long tentacles, low flow shot tenetacles.

First pix looks flame but the rest looks like a regular RBTA ...nice nem regardless of what it is
