New Fluval Sea EVO 5

Finally got my work station a nano cube! Today is day 1. So in the pictures you can see bubbles and sand silt on the inside of the glass. I'll clean it completely in the morning and aquascape. The rocks in the picture were just quickly placed in there. This little tank has big plans though! I used 5 gallons of my main system's water, live rock from my main tank's sump, and sand from my other tank. Which is why fish are in there already. Also put a couple zoa frags in there that already opened up too.

Thanks for looking and I'll post more pictures as the nano project continues.

Fluval says up to 80 gph which is the same pumps as the spec v. Based on what I've seen in pictures, it's exactly the same except the upgraded lights. The original led lights were pathetic. If you decide to want more flow, Aquatop np-302 118 gph pump is a great upgrade. I just installed it myself in my spec v. I use it without the little diffuser on the end. Creates nice flow without it being to strong, if that makes sense.

Great suggestion. I will absolutely upgrade the pump. Yeah the lid is different too, otherwise it seems to be the same.

I wonder what's different about the lid. It looks exactly the same as spec v. In fact one of the fluval parts store says the replacement lid fits both tanks. I really like this tank, I've had mine setup as a reef tank for almost a year.

Hows the tank doing?
Did you mod anything on it or is it all stock?

It's doing well. Goes un attended 3 days a week and seems to be thriving. Right now it has nothing but mushrooms, ricordias, maxi minis, anemone shrimps, a pom pom crab, and the 2 clowns. As far as mods I bought a slightly more powerful return pump, have a hydor nano power head in the tank, and glued a little piece of gsp over the small hole on bottom of overflow. Just use carbon and gfo in media bags replacing stock media. Oh and have a timer on the light.

The Aquatop np-302 does not seem to fit my evo 5. In case anyone else was considering using it. ugh.

At least it doesn't fit in the stock return pump section. I have an intank media basket on the other side so my options are limited.

The Aqueon AQ600 fits with some minor modifications (see the InTank site for details).
