New Foxface Rabbitfish acting extremely weird.

I got a foxface rabbitfish last Saturday. He's been eating perfectly fine. He swims around occasionally. He's in my 20g quarantine tank, no medications yet.

I know he's supposed to get dark and change colors when he's scared..but he's really worrying me. On the second day after I got him he was mostly yellow. And seemed to be doing pretty good. But the last 3 days he's just been very very pale, and has a lot of dark spots. Sometimes I find him doing really weird things, like actually leaning on things. The other day he was literally sitting on my sponge filter. Today he was leaning in one of my PVC pipes. I also found him laying down sideways, sorta, on the ground, up against a PVC pipe.

I know that he's really scared, but I'm just so paranoid. Is this a concern or is he still getting adjusted?

I added mine to my DT in December. While in QT,he was real scared and almost black,I thought it was dead, the way it leaned over..He was fine however. In the DT it regularly adds black tones now and then.It should be fine.

Sounds like a foxface being a foxface. They sure do have personality, and I wouldn't fret over it.

IME, I noticed they are camouflage a lot when they are the only fish in the tank. Mines did the same as mentioned above in QT. Never did again after the 1st night in the DT.

No hiding places... feeling exposed, I'd imagine. Likely return to more 'normal' behavior when he goes into a display tank.

I picked up a small scribbled rabbitfish a few weeks back, turns solid brown and lies on the bottom in the corner if I put my hand in the tank. Other times, he gorgeous, and I have to be careful feeding them... he gets so excited over a bit of food I'm afraid he's going to stab me.
