Hi -

I just got 3 new Grammas and two clowns. One is not moving around, breathing heavily, and has something on his skin that doesn't look quite right. Not sure if it is ich or not. The other two Grammas are hding, but seem active enough and the clowns are very active and out.

Any recommendations? Move to HT and treat with ??? Here is a big pic, but it should help to see.

Thanks!

I went out and bought a 10g (thx Petco $1/g sale) and all of the fixings. I have PraziPro and MetroPlex and bought some Copper treatment from PetCo. I will need to read up to see which can be mixed together without risk.

Spent $100 to save my $23 fish. They are worth every penny if it works!!

Any comments are greatly appreciated...

Hard to say from that picture.
If it looks like a layer of whitish slime it's likely Brooklynella hostilis (or Trichodina).
If it looks like a golden dusting or like a fine layer of rust it's Amyloodinium ocellatum (Velvet)
If it looks like a greyish patch surrounded by redness it may be Uronema marinum

PraziPro - good
MetroPlex - good
Copper - not good, especially without a good copper test kit. Won't work against Broklynella.

Get formalin or a formalin/malachite green mix (Rid-Ick Plus) to treat the above diseases.
Another medication that works is New Life Spectrum Ich Shield (can be found on Amazon)

Against Cryptocaryon irritans (ich) use tank transfers (TTM)
When transferring the fish from one tank to the next give them a 30 to 60 minute bath in saltwater dosed with formalin or formalin/malachite green.

If they were together in the same tank all fish have to be assumed infected and need to be treated.

They were set to do TTM, but this guy was so bad, I don't think he would have survived without medical treatment. I already did a copper treatment in the HT assuming it is ich. Can Prazi and / or Metro be used with copper or should I just let what I have done go to work?

Why do you use copper when you plan to do TTM?
Copper is very detrimental to a fish's health as it is an immune suppressant. Also, if this is brook, copper won't do a thing against it.
I would give him (and all the others) a formalin bath ASAP and then start TTM.
