Sup guys, just found out about this forum the other day while searching some stuff. Im from the Brandon/Valrico area and just got a 29 Oceanic Biocube. Had a couple saltwater tanks before this one and transferred everything into the cube. Still a noob on the lighting part of a tank and just getting into growing some coral. When I got the tank the guy gave me an Odyssea t5 light and a marineland led...should I use these instead of the pc lights in the hood or just stick with the hood? Also have a goby in the tank...kinda scared he might jump lol

Hi welcome to RC!

I don't think the marineland leds are strong enough to "grow" corals..I think you can keep them, but the PC lights or T5 would be much better.

Welcome first off. Lots of great people here local. As far as the lighting if doing coral the PC lighting is pretty worthless. I used to have that exact tank and PC light :(. How many bulbs in the t5 and what marineland light is it?

As far as the fish jumping out u can make a DIY screen cover will let light through but not fish out

Ok I saw the pics u sent me the 4 bulb 2ft. T5 setup would work great. If u need to add an led strip just for color pop. Change the bulbs in the t5 fixture u don't know the age so consider them needing replacing
