Just picked this guy up. My 12 year old GSMs gave it about a minute and a half before they dived in. It was on a rock in the previous owners tank because they had bare bottom. I am trying to get it to move into the pipe. Its moved half way and then stopped.

Its already had one of my peppermint shrimp for dinner.

Give it some time and he'll move into the pipe. Or he won't. Who knows with them. Looks healthy at the moment though.

Well it must be doing good. In 48 hours it has lodged its foot in the pipe, accepted my GSM pair with open arms and eaten 2 peppermint shrimp and a green chromis. Didnt like that fish anyway.

What size pipe is that?

Very nice and healthy looking carpet!

4in pvc about 4 inches long with a cap. The carpet is about 9 in when open. The person I bought it from said it has been 14 inches before but I havent seen it that big.

I initially had mine in a PVC pipe and after 3 weeks he came out...go figure.

Worried mine will do the same. I have a closed loop set up for flow because I was trying my hand at SPS. Now I am experimenting with the jets trying to adjust the flow so it doesnt bother him but I think I did too good of a job designing the system becasue no matter what direction I go there is still pretty good flow everywhere. May have to shut it down if I want him to stay put.
