Ok so ibought a blue hoddoni form some one local and they had it
in a tray w/ sand of course and i was wondering how long to allow it to acclamate to the tank before removing it from the tray and allow it to burrow in the substraight in the tank. I acclamated it for 3 hrs before putting it in the tank ant advice would be appreciated!:bum:

if it's not attached to the tray move it to the substrate now, if it's attached to the tray it's likely it'll move if it's not happy with the spot you have it in and it'll walk out of the tray on its own.

I will proably wait and see if ity walk out. If it still in there in a week il remove it from the tray. Just dont want to stress it out twice as hard (acclamation removing from sand) The tray is an eye sore!! Thanks Jetcat USA for the chim;)

Will it be stuck to the plastic tray do ya think? The best way would to dig ll sand from around it and go that way what do ya think? I was thinking about cutting the tray but dount know where the foot is if it gos straight down or to the side!

I'd highly suspect he's firmly attached to the tray unless it's got a rock in the bottom of it. take the tray and flip it upside down, the sand will fall out, the carpet will stay with the tray, you can then see exactly where the foot is at and cut around it.

Is your Haddoni really healthy? Even though it can be a nuissance when handling Haddoni anemones you could move your Haddoni off the tray and place it in the sandbed. A healthy Haddoni should easily recover and plant it's foot in the sandbed and fully expand within a day. Got any pictures?

SVXH6, sounds easy but then you're really disturbing the sandbed. Not to mention, the Haddoni is bound to move and the tray may just cause uneeded problems.

I will try flipping it this week som time when the rest of the family gos to bed!!! The Haddoni has been in 2 diff systems mine beeing the 3rd over the last 4 yrs so i thing that its pretty healthy, eating frozen muscles every other day. I am going to try and feed it tomorrow so well see what happens. Look for pics as soon as hes out of the tray! As far as burying the tray its about 8 in tall naD 14 in long and i only have a 3.5 in sand bed it would just not look natural!

Wow! You guys are making this way too hard. Stick you fingers into the sand. Find the the edge of the foot and gently slide your finger nail under it. Its on a smooth surface, once you get your finger under it, it will come off very easy.
Cutting the tray will just make everything more difficult.
It may deflate and maybe even push out its stomach, but it will be fine.

Wow! You guys are making this way too hard.............it will come off very easy.

not all (or even most) of them come off so easily, I've had several on glass that weren't easily removed and in the hands of the inexperienced why chance him damaging the foot and killing the nem???

Well GOOD news he ate today only after being in the tank for 12 hrs:) So this whole tray thing is stressing me out!!!!! Will the foot stick like a RBTA? If so i can get a fill for what im against!! Ive had some RBTA stick pretty good, so when the time come to remove from tray it will be VERY COUIUS procedure!!!!!!

Mines in a tupperware bowl it hasnt moved for three weeks or more it eats my clown hides in the bowl with it. Today it has started moving out of the bowl I will be glad to have the bowl out of my tank but I decided it was best to let it decide what it wanted to do. and its working out with him moving out of the bowl.
