New Hanna Marine Alkalinity (dKH) Checker

The hardware might be the same, but they will be calibrated differently, at least. The Marine Checker should read higher than the freshwater Checker, unless the chemistry is very different.
I thought they were both marine. Which would you consider for fresh and why?

I was a bit confused by Hanna's web page, apparently. The marine Checkers should be interchangeable for use on saltwater as far as accuracy, although you'll have to use a different scale. The freshwater Checkers will work only with fresh water.

I have been reading reviews about the Hanna Checker for Alk being inconsistent with readings. Was the reagent the reason for it?

Yep, the bad batch of reagents did cause some issues with readings. Things have been fine since. (I haven't had any issues.)
