New here, got a question.

So I have been keeping fish and nems for a few years now. My question is that if I am keeping nems alive and thriving, is it safe to assume that I can also keep LPS like frogspawn? I have always wanted to get into corals but have been kinda scared.

After about 5 hours in the tank.

I have been working with small tanks lately. The frogspawn is in a 10 gallon with a 15 watt 10,000K coralife, an 8000K full spectrum from aqueon, and an actinic. There is a whisper 40-50 I believe along with a power head for filtration and circulation. I think that's it. All levels like ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and so on are spot on and have been for quite a while now. I think that covers it, if I forgot anything let me know.

If you're getting into stony corals you should be concerned with your alkalinity, calcium and magnesium levels.

Yup, get some test kits and make sure you're maintaining alk between 7-12, calclium 400-450, and mag around 1300. That should do it, they're not too demanding.

I think your lighting should be fine for most lps. I dose seachem reef fusion 1 and 2 to maintain my calcium and alkalinity levels.

Awesome! Thanks for the tips. Picking up the reef test kit tomorrow. It seems to be doing ok for now

And I add reef accelerator to the tank too. I wasn't sure if it had calcium but it sure does! Still definitely getting the test kits lol
