I'm glad they kept that very nice price point! If the Vortech doesn't really Wow me, I'm going to get two of these suckas!

just ordered mine. I'll let you guys know how it is

Great, wich one did you order? keep us informed :) that is kind of the same price as getting a MJ and the mod.

I'm thinking of the same thing ken..I can't wait to get rid of those damn seio 2600. they shade to much of my tank

N-A-S-O: Only downside is that they don't flow even close to a 2600. A modified MJ 1200 will be smaller than the hydor and flow more than the seio 2600.

I am going with the hydors for a finished look and built in magnet mounts though. I also think that having more sources to produce equivalent flow will be a better setup than two 1200s.

I'm through with the trouble the Vortech(s) have given me -

HAPPILY - I just ordered a Hydor # 3 with quick shipping from Dr.F/S.

I realize there are large obvious differences in the Koralia vs. Vortech and I will post a small review/comparison.

For starters - the Koralia is $40 rather than $345, so these two should rightfully not be compared.

Also, the Koralia is likely to work as designed - also a reason these two should rightfully not be compared.

I couldn't resist.

Hey Steadyhand,

I just ordered 2 of the Hydor 4's. The hydor 3 won't give you anywhere near the flow of a Vortech.

I have high hopes for the hydor though and I've been somewhat dissuaded from even trying out my Vortech. I think I'll return it and just adopt a wait and see approach to the whole thing. If they can stand the test of time for another couple of years then I might consider purchasing one again.

Cheers,
John

What about some of the other prop-driven pumps that are supposed to be coming out... like the AquaMedic one that they had at interzoo2006?

Awesome, can't wait till you guys test the koralias out and let us know what you think. Hahnmeister, would you have a link to these other AquaMedic pumps?

just ordered two #4's, was looking to upgrade my sieo 820's anyway. ill let everyone know what I think after they arrive.

Right now, a spatula would provide more flow than my Vortech........I couldn't resist that one either.
