I said ____ it. I found them (#4) for $39.99 each! Not bad, beats foster and smith/ MD by $20 PER head!!!! :)

Mike,

Where are you getting these things for that price?

Cheers,

Just like everything in this hobby. When you buy something cheap, in the long run you end up buying the more expensive model cos the cheap one did not function has promised. I hope this dees not happen with the hydor pumps.

There are numerous cheaper products such as Gen-X PCS-40 pumps that have become almost a staple commodity for reefers because of their low cost and longevity.

I'm hoping these Hydor pumps end up in the same class!

Why do you consider this "cheap" is it because it doesn't have the Tunze brand name?

My reference to "cheaper" meant "less pricey".. I wasn't referring to it from the quality point of view...

My "cheaper brand equipment" list includes: Resun PCX-70 pump, Resun ozone generator, no-name CO2 regulator, no-name refractometer.

All were much less costly than the big names and have performed perfectly fine so far.

I don't doubt that the Tunzes are great, I just can't justify the cost...

I have one of the 400 models in my 20L and it works excellent. I wouldn't say they're cheap pumps but I would say that Tunze is overpriced. You saw how DF&S raised the price - not so cheap anymore, are they? They are well built and quiet and do the job for less money.

They are on sale at Foster and Smith now

The #4 are $47.99

Save another $5 to bring it down to $42.99 using discount Coupon Code: 24454014 Exp. 3/31/07

OK... gonna take a plunge and try them out.

Ordered two #2 (600gph) for my 90g... though not a lot of water movement by most people's standards, I want to add to my flow that presently consists of 4 MJ900 with Hydor Flo attachments and a MagDrive700 feed/sump pump.

I'm hoping I can free up a couple of the MJ900 to do a DHNGUYEN's MJMod on them... maybe put them in my pond and see if I can blow a few goldfish out of the water. :lmao:

Are you sure you have the right place? Why would they be on sale if they keep selling out and are brand new????

Got two 4s for my 125. They move a ton of water and kicked all sorts of crap up off my live rock.
