Hey Doug,
Everything is looking spectacular!

Do you find that your skimmer is producing better now that you've redirected the overflow drain water directly into the skimmer?

Later,
Tyler
Thanks Tyler - Jury is still out on the skimmer production, but intial thoughts are that it helped. I was overdue to clean the skimmer last weekend when I made the change so we got a tremendous amount of junk right after the change. I need to scrub down the bottom of the sump and then monitor it for a month to see if it reduces the amount of buildup we get there too...

I tend to get a decent amount of junk that settles out; I have a hermit in the sump that does a decent job of keeping it somewhat clean though. :)
Not sure it'd work too well on my sump since all bulkheads are on the far right; so not the easiest to rig something up. I may try it one of these days though.

What "fineness" of filter sock are you using now? I'd like to give that a try on my skimmer output; it seems to dump some microbubbles into the sump that are getting over into the return section...

Jeff - Glad to see you made it through the huricane season! Let's hope next year is a little kinder to you guys...

The purple tank is great. He's never had ick, always shows great color, and spends the majority of his time out front. The Naso has tought him how to pick the algae off the return tubes. There was a bit of a power struggle initially between the two, but after the first few days, they have been very tight. It's strange to watch them swim in unision around the tank.

Hey Doug,
Time to bring an old thread back! It's been over a year since I've seen an update for your tank. I'd be interested in seeing a pic of how things are doing :)
