I will be building my fish room soon just wanted to get everyone opinions on RODI hookups and Lights. I plan on running just one water line to the new room any advice on size and fiittings to be ready for my new RO unit and light systems 10 years ago I had a 125 reef with MH lighting getting back in the hobby and my new tank will be 84 by 30 by 30 cheapest way but want good lighting and with this going in the wall how to hang or get a complete unit,

So when you say fish room, do mean the tank is also in this room or is this where all the plumbing, pumps, holding tanks, etc. will be?

Where all the plumbing and pumps will go just wanted to know what type of lighting how to hang or just set on top of tank and rodi water what kind of connections to run to the new room to hook up.

On the less expensive side for light a 30" deep tank, you will need 4 400 watt metal halides, you choice of colors, but I tend toward the 10,000k variety.
For running water, I would put a sink and drain in the room which you will need anyway with a tee off the back for additional garden hose like connections. RODI units will always come with one and is less stressful than puncturing a pipe for the other type of fittings.

I have several large 55 gallon food grade barrels for holding RODI and Saltwater which are plumbed together for ease of use with a pump between them. If I had room, I would put in another for Kalk. The saltwater exchange system is run off a controller with two BRS dosing pumps.

If you have the room, I would add a manifold for moving water to a multi-tank QT system. I am setting this aspect up now, I should have done it originally and it would have been easier.

I also have a manifold off of my main pump for running other items like reactors, other tanks in the system, I have a hose connector on here as well for getting tank water for testing or just changing larger amounts of water.

Where are you located in Tennessee I live just north of Nashville

Fairview which is southwest of Nashville in Williamson County.

ok great I could used someone close to bounce ideas off of. I will start to build this room in May so maybe we could get together and you could show me things to make this a easy project. I live in Hendersonville only 30 miles from you

Sounds like a plan.

Rock city in Nashville has some great DI units that are top of the line and money well spent. LEDs are here to stay and many options exist, look them over and review some recent large tank builds as you analyze data. Best of luck with your project.
