I woke up this morning to find my new L. maculata lying on his back. I reached in and touched him, expecting him to take off, but he didn't. As I went to pull him out (I was sure he was dead) he did move slightly, so I placed him back on the floor of his tank. I don't think he is going to survive. The water was tested Sunday and was fine. The fish in with him are fine. This sucks! Do I leave him in the tank when I leave for work? Should I leave him and see if, maybe he will come around?

As I had said in my last thread, he wasn't eating very well, and he is not set up properly (although that would have changed tomorrow). I feel awful thinking that this spectacular critter is dying and I don't know if it is my fault.

HELP!!!!!!!!

Don't let it get you down, this seems to be somewhat common where a seemingly healthy mantis just up and dies for no reason. It could have been cyanide poisoning, a bad molt or something else all together. from the information given it sound like it wasn't your fault, so as helipilot said dont give up and just take it as a learning experience
