I have a Canon Rebel XTi and I bought the Canon 100mm Macro f/2.8
Gary~ The learning curve isn't too bad... Really I haven't had much time to mess around with it... It's amazing the difference between this lens and the kit lens... The autofocus works a LOT faster and more silent... I'll use the manual focus often though only because the AF tends to focus on whatever is nearest in the vacinity your trying to shoot... The bow on the front of my Aquapod messes with this lens much more... You can't take the pic at any sort of angle, or the picture comes out distorted... If you look in the photography forum I had a thread a month or so ago debating between the Sigma 150mm and the Canon 100mm... I ended up going with the Canon only because more people had it and liked it over the Sigma, and the fact that the Canon focuses internally as opposed to externally...
I guess I don't... I'll have to take one next time I come out... The bottom pic is Ashley's favorite... She has it set as her wallpaper on her laptop...
I was torn for weeks on which one to get. I checked it out on Photography on the net and didn't get any definitives. Most liked both. The negatives for the Sigma were the extra weight and the extra camera shake. I also saw that the Sigma is more difficult to pick up (learnign curve). Trail by fire. I'll have no excuses after I get it. The pictures I've seen from both lenses rock some serious butt. Mine is due here Thursday...
