The deep forest exotic pet store in bellevue center mall is going to start to carry saltwater coral and fish!!!!!!!!!
 
Yeah, he's been scheming that for a while. Check out his website (unless he's changed it for the sake of saving face). You may not want to do business there... I certainly won't. Just understand, that if you feel like you are being ignored, it must be your fault (from one if the 'rules' on his website). If you make it in there, let us know how he is set up in comparison to everyone else.
 
I went in there a couple of years ago to just have a look around and I felt totally unwelcome... I think their philosophies make pretty clear why I had that impression. Regardless of what they sell or how much they sell it for, I will never buy anything from there as long as they stand to profit from it.

It does sound like a racist bastard!! The way he puts "white" female "white" male. It does NOT matter what race comes to your store, you should NEVER quote something like that!!! :mad2:
 
I think the story goes back way further than last Febuary. I won't attempt to tell the story because I don't know all the facts, but from what I understand oldschooler has had different oppinions than most on how to run a business for a few years.
 
Wow! I can not belive this guys web page. He definetly has a superiority complex. I wonder if his head is shaved? Kudoes for pointing him out Gflat! I wouldn't want to support someone who has no clue how to run a buisness and make someone feel welcome. We all start out in a hobby ignorant of the right way to do stuff and learn from helpful patient fellow hobbiests. I would hate to think my reef club wouldn't let me join untill I was an expert and read all the latest books on tangs and coral husbandry "before" I was taken in and given common respect and curtosy. I agree a LFS shouldn't sell a anemone to a guy with a light bulb over his tank for the animals sake but to call him ignorant and ignore him in the store? Part of his job is to inform the customer IMO the proper husbandry he rants about. I am amazed he was born with all the knowledge he will ever need. Wish I was and I wouldn't have to waste my time surfing the net reading... but oh yea, thats part of the fun, learning, trial and error, growing in your hobby.... I better stop, it's late and I have had a bad day and it just got worse. I would hate to be his wife :(.
 
I had the pleasure(lol) of talking to him when I first started keeping snakes a couple of years ago. He worked at Emerald bay. One of the most common questions that I asked when trying to figure out which snake to get as my first was " how big does it get". He was very quick to point out that it's not a case of how big they get!! His website really reflcts how he acted back then too.
