I've seen some pictures of tanks using solartubes like that. The recurring cost is pretty low due to 0 power useage, but its not so great in temperate climates due to less light during the winters.

I'd like to see this in person. Also they filter UV and infra red in the mirrors, I wonder how that would effect the coral growth.
