new lighting ?

well just built my hood today and now all im waiting on is a fan. My main question is this. im going from just one 96watt pc to 2 250 MH and was wondering how you all think I should acclimate the tank to the lights. i've heard leave them on for only a coulple hours and gradualy increas the time over a couple weeks but should I use another lght when the halides are off.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

No other light is needed, drop it to about 4 hours per day and slowly increase the time. Watch for any signs of bleaching, if you see any, back off for a while. That is quite an increase in light, so take your time getting them used to it.

so how should I go about doing that? Should I just increase it by an hour a week or what?
