New Lights

Ok, so I have one of those Coralife units (Aqualight Pro HQI/Compact Fluorescent/Lunar Light Fixture) that is on my little 65 Gallon. It's been about 14 months with the bulbs it came with (10k coralife) so I knew I was getting to the point where they were just not putting out like they use to. So I got a pair of 14k Phoenix bulbs and over the weekend I was getting my tank use to them.

These bulbs are awesome, I love the color it makes the tank and everything seems to be just fine with them. The tank is pretty blue now, I have to change out the Actinics with some 50/50s or something like that, but I am loving this new color.

LOL, yeah we need pics!
The Phoenix will be whiter as they burn in though, they are a little too blue at first so wait on your fl. bulbs for a couple weeks to make sure you are not ok with the color.

I have the 10k now and am in the same boat but I just ordered my Actinics this morning and will order my MH in a couple weeks. I was wondering about getting 10k again or go with 14k. Let me know what you think in the next week or so. What does evey one else like?

Cool, I have an HQI Coralife Aqualight Pro fixture and I was thinking about trying the 14k Phoenix bulb.

Post some pics when ya' can!

Well to be honest I have to stop coming to this forum because of peoples avatars, so you will not see any more updates for me.

I don't have a camera that can even take good pics of the lighting. But after about 5 days now, my mushrooms are in love with the light and everything is open and happy.

I'll get a camera someday, and when I do, I think you all will be surprised at all the zoas and srooms I have in this tank, and the crazy growing on the glass Hydnophora, and whatever this rose colored SPS with cream tip things that I can not remember the damn name of. Scott knows what I am talking about, he has or had one in his store last time I was there.

edit: Rose Acropora millepora is what I am talking about.
