Well , Thanks to Paul , and his son Chris , I got my new lights installed . No more MHs for me . So far these things look great . The light (To My Eye ) looks as white as my 400watt 10K XMs . I should have plenty of light for my SPS corals now . My electric bill will go way down , and I won't need a chiller . Ted

Thank you for the positive comments . I will post my findings on how these new lights do . The bulbs are 65K , and pull 68 watts with an incandescent equivalent of 300 watts . They have a built in electronic ballast , and cost $19. , and change each . (Not too bad) I think .

Ted,

Do the new bulbs put out much heat? Also, looks like the strange algae has died off a bunch since I was up there.

Jim

Jim , There doesn't seem to be a great amount of heat . The bulbs do get hot , but nothing like my old MH lights . I won't need my chiller any more . Also you got a good eye , that nasty stuff is starting to go away . Ted
