New look- NFMAS.org

Well here it is...
http://www.NFMAS.org
The transfer has been done and I've got most of the pages
built. I need to get the content back into the pages but it
takes time. I think if I spend one more minute on this computer
my wife is going to kill me.
I made up a crude registration page so I'll know when someone
joins and I've stored the membership data so we don't lose anyones membership. Once I figure out how to create a database I'll enter all the member data.
I hope you all like the look, I know it's just a website, but it's ours.
If anyone has any comments I'll see what I can do.
Thanks
George

Hi George,

let us know when we can add photos into the Gallery. So far it is looking good. Thanks for your hard work.

That's going to be the hard part creating the databases and programs to manage the data. I'm lucky that I figured out the mail-to form for registration.
I'm probably going to have to rely on some help with the behind the scene stuff. I hoping maybe czieler might still be interested in helping me. I know she not to fond of PHP and MySQL but maybe she can show me how to acquire the scripts and stuff like that.

George...

I'd check this out ... http://www.photopost.com/ ... it is used on the other site we have a forum on.

It's not free...but it may save you a lot of time if you want to go with PHP.

Also... who are you hosting the site through now? They may have some content mangement systems already built in for you.... some of those, such as PHP-Nuke have image gallery modules you can install for them.

If the server supports Python I could send you some scripts that I have for photo uploads... ( I'm really busy over the next two-three weeks with some freelance work... but after that I could probably take some existing stuff I have and modify it to work for your purposes... but its in Python not PHP )

MySQL is great ... it's the PHP I haven't worked with much ;)

Do you have the existig database for the users that are already signed up...or are you having to start from scratch now?

Hi Carole:
I did print out the members page so that I can keep track of who's who. I also will receive the mail-to of anyone that uses the registration form so I can add them to the list.
Here is a list of what I have to work with using my new host
(Vodahost). I just don't know what to do with them or which one will benefit what I have to do.

You would laugh if you saw the book I've been reading.
PHP and MY SQL for dummies. Boy do I feel like a dummy.

Ok..if I were you ... I'd check out PHPNuke...

I know that it has an image gallery module..and has user management already built in.

I haven't used it...but there is a big user community for it...

Nice looking site so far George. I would love to help with the site, but I am not that computer savvy as you and Carole are. If I can help with anything, just let me know.
