These were all shot yesterday, as I just picked up a new lens. I shoot with a Nikon D70 Digital SLR.
My tank technique is usually centered around using strobes (2), this allows for faster shutter speeds which can be traded 'on-the-fly' for depth of field. A added bonus comes from the strobes overpowering ALL tank lighting thereby eliminating any white balance issues. The top shot, of the leather, was an available light image, think I shot at about f/22, 1/2 sec. (wanted larger depth of field), you can see the fish in the background.

those are really nice pics ............... why u have air bubbles everywhere on pic 2,3,4 what is wrong???

I think I've gotten an idea of where this pesky algae, which is causing the bubbles you mentioned. My nitrates are virtually immesurable, phosphates are 0.1, ph is 8.3 ... I've been scratching my head ...

Prizm skimmer ... :(

After doing a little more thorough research here I'v noticed many people are having a problem with red slime type algae when running this skimmer, I hear the super skimmer is the way to go, I'll do that this week.

I am having the same problem with that skimmer! Its worked great for me for about a year and now mine is doing the same thing. I am going to try a new skimmer today...

They're really horrible, you just can't get the adjustment where it needs to be. They could have designed it with a needle valve and that probably would have helped. I'm picking up the super skimmer this afternoon.

WOW!! Amazing pics. And what a great dog!

Thanks, he's my buddy. Yours looks pretty comfy there.

I am not familiar with the prizm skimmers but my euro-reef will produce microbubbles the minute the venturi air inlet starts getting clogged, at first i did not know what it was but after asking around other ER owners evryone told me to clean the air inlet, that resolved the problem fast!

My Romora AquaC always made microbubbles... but it works fine for me. I let it run at night so I don't have to see the ugly microbubbles or hear it.

Question: Are your skimmers on all day long? If not, how long do you have them on for?

I had been running my Prizm 24/7, and it never got a grip on the red slime. Our fish club had a guest speaker this month, he was the man that developed Miracle Mud, I've used his product for years, he had NEVER used a skimmer. Firm believer of the less is more concept.
